Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide / Softail Windshield by Clearview Shields
We engineer our Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide / Softail Windshields and Motorcycle windscreens to exceed your expectations through rigorous testing. During the final stages of product development, we send out samples of our designs to different riders for review and feedback to refine the finished product. These individuals are asked for their body height, inseam, and any existing Bike mods/modifications. This information gives us valuable data when determining best windshield size for each individual rider. This data is available to you to use for comparison for your own body size and riding needs. Click the link below for our focus group rider profiles to help you pick the best height.
The name Dyna itself only emerged in 1991, but the origin of the line of Harley-Davidson motorcycles can be traced back almost two decades. The late 1960s brought a peak to the scene of custom motorcycles. 1991 saw the introduction of the FXDB Sturgis, the first official Dyna model on the market. The FXDB was named in honor of the annual bicycle rally in South Dakota that continues to take place today. About 1,500 were produced.
Twenty-seven years after the Dyna was conceived, its time has come to an end. In 2017, Harley-Davidson announced that the line would be over after the 2018 model year. The popular Dyna models, which were still in production at the time, were merged into the newly designed Softail line. In recent years, the Dynas put on a strong show and created motorcycles that many found attractive. That is not to say that the modal went down without a fight.
When considering a new Dyna Motorcycle Windshield choose Clearview Shields as all of our windscreens are handcrafted in the U.S.A. and rigorously inspected to meet and exceed your standards. Our screens feature many options including size options such as height and width. Our shields also feature tint and recurve options so that you and achieve the custom look combined with versatility and functionality you deserve to give you the ultimate riding experience.

Clearview makes a great product. It is thicker than most stock windshields and wider. The slight curve a the increases the down force on the front end, and makes for a bigger air pocket for the rider. This was my third purchase from them. I started buying their product in 2010.

Rider is 6’Tall and has a 34″ inseam
Just test rode with the new windshield, I love it.
I would estimate that there was an ~2″ mild area above my helmet before the main force of the wind was felt, 70+mph etc., using my hand and slowly raising it starting at my face.
I even raised my body up, easily well over 2″, and did not feel any wind force on my head that was at all annoying, just the normal amount of minor wind, not the main force. Which was actually kind of strange because that 14.5″ windshield that I tested and returned seemed too low, I don’t remember all the particulars but I returned it so obviously it didn’t work for me.
I took a bunch of pictures in a much better area than in the garage, lol. I’m going to go through them really quick and crop or whatever is needed and I will send them to you.
I’m going to want another windshield similar for my other 2003 FXDWG. I’ve been running a Corbin Dual Tour seat on it for a while, and I also have a Corbin Gunfighter and Lady for it. On the two-tone bike I was just riding, I am running a Corbin Classic Solo that I had made specifically for me at a ride-in appointment in Hollister.
I just purchased another used classic solo seat, and I also have one on my 2003 FXDL Low Rider. One of those is going to go onto the Gunmetal Pearl 2003 bike, and I’m selling the heated dual tour seat that’s on it. Once I get that seat figured out I’m going to want to get a shorter windshield from you because the one that’s currently on it is OEM. (Pretty good chance that the seat currently on the FXDL is staying there since that one works really well with the short windshield that I purchased from you)
That OEM height on the one that was on this two-tone bike had the top edge right where I didn’t want it, and then there was distortion when looking through the shield just below the top and it was right at the most important place for me to see, with my height in the saddle on that bike using that seat. SO much better now!
Best wishes, Jon

This is my 3rd Clearview windshield; I have had them on two metric bikes as well. Superior quality and fitment compared to other aftermarket windshields I have tried. When I need to replace a windshield, I won’t go anywhere else. Thank you.

The fit and finish of the Clearview Shield is perfect. Installation was very easy. The shield is great to ride behind. There is absolutely no buffeting with this shield. I am very impressed with the quality of this product and the helpful, knowledgeable staff at Clearview Shields.
