Ordering & Fitment
Clearview shields are built by Make and Model — not by year. As long as your bike’s mounting bracket pattern matches, one shield fits that model across its entire production run. Use the finder bar at the top of any page: select your bike’s make, then model, and you’ll see every shield built for it.
Give us a call at 1-800-798-6089. We build for a wide range of makes and models, and if there’s a close match or a tailored option available, we’ll walk you through it.
Yes. If you know the height or width change you need, add it in the “custom notes” section at checkout. For anything more involved, call us directly or email info@clearviewshields.com and we’ll build it to spec.
Choosing Your Shield
As a starting point: the top of the shield should sit 1–2 inches below your eye line at highway speed, so you’re looking over it, not through it. Full details are on our Choosing Your Shield page — or call us with your height and riding position and we’ll help you land on the right size.
The recurve adds a subtle inward curve to the top few inches of the shield, engineered to redirect airflow up and over your helmet instead of letting it hit you directly. Most riders who try it don’t go back. It’s especially worth it if you’re sizing up in height.
If you ride regularly in warmer temps or do a lot of stop-and-go riding, yes — the 5-position adjustable vent lets you dial in airflow instead of dealing with heat and back pressure buildup. It’s optional, not required.
Clear is the safest choice for visibility in all conditions, including night riding. Gray tints cut glare in bright sun. Bronze helps in overcast or early-morning light. Dark smoke and whiskey are style-forward choices best suited to daylight riding. All tints are DOT-approved.
Materials & Manufacturing
A high-impact acrylic blend that exceeds DOT standards — thicker and more rigid than most factory shields, with UV inhibitors built in to resist yellowing over time.
Every shield is built to order in Fort Collins, Colorado. Nothing sits pre-made on a shelf — it’s manufactured specifically for your bike and your choices after you order.
Most shields ship within 1–2 weeks from order. Vintage or complex builds may take longer.
Care & Maintenance
Use Novus Plastic Polish — #1 for routine cleaning, #2 for fine scratches or haze, #3 for deeper scratches. Always apply with a clean microfiber cloth, never paper towels or dry rags.
Yes — Rain-X Original for Plastic Clear Formula is safe on Clearview shields and helps keep the shield clear in wet weather.
Skip ammonia-based cleaners like Windex — they can cloud or crack acrylic over time. Never wipe a dry shield with a dry rag; always wet or lubricate it first.
Returns & Warranty
Yes. Every shield ships with a unique 4ml transparent film on the front and back surfaces. Install the shield with the film still in place, take it for a real ride, and check the fit and performance — no need to remove any portion of the film to evaluate it.
You have 30 days from your ship date to exchange for a different height or return for a full refund, minus shipping and handling and credit card fees — as long as the film hasn’t been removed and the shield is in new condition. If the film mask has been removed and reapplied, or if it’s past 30 days, we can’t take the shield back.
The rider covers all shipping costs on an exchange — both the outbound shipping of the replacement shield and the inbound shipping of the shield being sent back.
Any credit card fees tied to a return, exchange, or cancellation are billed to the original purchaser.
No — custom and non-standard shields are final sale and can’t be returned or exchanged. Dark tints that are requested on larger shields are also non-returnable.
No. Purchases made through a reseller or distributor need to go through that same reseller or distributor for any return or exchange.
Every Clearview shield is covered against defects in material or workmanship for 12 months from the ship date to the original purchaser. This is the only warranty offered — Clearview doesn’t extend any other warranties, expressed or implied.
Call or email us for a Return Authorization (RA) number before sending anything back — all warranty returns require one.
