Hiring Our Nations Heroes

“SHOW YOUR STRIPES”- Hiring Our Nations Heroes

Having been in business for over 27 years, Clearview Shields has, and will continue to be, an active participant of hiring our nation’s veterans.

These past and present employees not only have work experience serving our country, but they have been exposed to ideals that enhance and promote a respectable work ethic.  It baffles the mind why there are over 900,000 unemployed veterans in the US and why more companies don’t try to capitalize on the positive attributes found in our nation’s military men and women.

There are many websites that help bring businesses and veterans together, but a recent campaign titled “Show Your Stripes”, created by iHeart radio, is shining a light on the problem of our unemployed veterans. Through different forms of media, iHeart radio is creating public awareness and bringing even more businesses into the circle. Clearview Shields is an active supporter of the “Show Your Stripes” program and, like the stories that you can find on their website, Clearview Shields would like to share the story of our current employee, Jon Rust.

Jon was in the Navy for 8 years. He served on the USS Hopper DDG and was stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI.  During his term, he was a S.C.A.T. (Small Craft Attack Team) Sniper and held jobs including managing the ship’s store and barber shop.  The position he seems the most proud of is being a liaison to MWR (Moral, Welfare, and Recreation), where he organized activities that brought fellow servicemen and women to the aid of communities in other parts of the world. Jon is settled back here in the Colorado Rockies where family and fiancé reside. Though he takes pride in the work he has done in the service, he is also proud of being on the Clearview Shields team of craftsmen who manufacture high quality windshields for motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide.

Clearview Shields will always continue to support those men and women who currently serve our country and, when needed, continue to hire those veterans looking for a choice employer.

As September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance approaches, help us to support and honor our veterans, military members, and first responders.
